Back in school, one of my professors used to say: “If you don’t pay for a service, you’re the product.”
And it’s so true. There are so many “free” services that use your personal information to make money. We should be careful about that. It is never a good idea to pay with your privacy!
Throughout much of history the "right" to sovereignty was only respected when it was supported by gun ownership. This is suppose is similar, when we have a "right to privacy" we really only have a "right to exercise" our privacy by doing things to support it.
Great comparison, one that crossed our minds as well. similar to property rights, territorial integrity of a nation, etc. rights are good, but you need power, tools, etc to support them. Relying solely on “rights” is a losing game in the long run.
100% Similarly, living in Canada over the last 5 years I realized if the populace does not actively exercise their freedoms documents like a constitution really mean nothing. An idea forgotten or no longer believed in ceases to exist in a way.
I've switched this year to using the Brave browser; and I'm liking it.
Brave is great. Can't say enough good things about that project.

We’ll put
I must start using email aliases more; I regularly forget to do this.
Email aliases are probably the highest privacy ROI move you can (reasonably) make.
