It’s a bitch getting old. For years I followed the flow with apps for everything, but J slowly came to realize that nothing is free. Why would someone develop an app and then give it out for free? Slowly I began deleting apps and I found that my life didn’t change a bit. Weather forecasts don’t need to know my location. I get around just like I have for the over 60 years that I have been driving. Before I go somewhere new, I look at a map, create a mental image and then drive until I need to reference a map again. I am rarely distracted, I’m not crawling down the road blocking traffic while I wait for last minute instructions. I will take advantage of traffic websites in order to avoid delays but those sites don’t know where I am or where I’m going.

When the power goes out, I’ll be just fine.

Great post, the nav app space is quite limited for options but for a good maps alternative that is very private, try CoMaps.
